Welcome to Buzz.

One quiet place for the whole team to run projects, with a few AI teammates working right alongside you. Here's everything you need to get in and get comfortable. Takes about five minutes.

01 · Getting in

Which computer are you on?

Mac: it just opens

Buzz for Mac is signed and notarized by Apple. No scary warning, no right-click trick. Open the .dmg, drag Buzz into Applications, double-click it.

Windows: one warning to click past

The Windows build isn't code-signed yet, so you get a blue "Windows protected your PC" box the first time. Click More info, then Run anyway. Your browser may also ask you to Keep the file. Only do this for the installer we sent you.

  1. Install BuzzBuzz is a real app, not a browser tab. Grab the installer for the machine you picked above.
  2. Open the invite link we sent youIt opens on your computer and drops you straight at the Dor Brothers workspace.
  3. Save your backup keyWhen Buzz shows your private key, copy it into a password manager. That key is your login on any new device. Keep it private, don't lose it.
  4. Pick your nameA display name so the team knows who's who. No email, no password.
  5. You're inLand in the workspace, say hi in general, and you're set.

02 · On your phone · optional

Scan once, same account on your phone

Want Buzz on your phone too?

Fine, desktop only

Nothing breaks. Pair a phone whenever you feel like it: it lives under Settings → Mobile and takes under a minute.

Your phone borrows the login from your desktop by scanning a QR code. Keep the desktop app open. Under a minute.

  1. Install Buzz on your phoneiOS and Android both have a build. Ask Haydo for the current install link.
  2. On the desktop: bring up the QRAvatar → Settings → Mobile → Start pairing. A QR appears, with Copy pairing code under it.
  3. On the phone: scan itOpen Buzz, tap Scan a QR code, point the camera at your monitor. Won't scan? Paste the copied code into the box instead.
  4. Check the two codes matchBoth screens show a short security code. Same on both, then confirm.
  5. Same you, second screenChannels, DMs and name carry across. One account, two devices.

The QR expires in minutes and burns after one use. Timed out? Start pairing again. Never post a pairing QR or code anywhere: whoever scans it becomes you.

03 · Your own agent · optional

Which AI do you already pay for?

Claude: it's already in the list

During setup Buzz asks if you want to connect an agent. Pick Claude Code, sign in when it asks, done. Missed that screen? Settings → Agents, same list.

Runs on your machine, on your own Claude plan. Nothing pooled, nothing metered centrally.

Codex: it's already in the list

Gemini: not in the list yet, three steps

Buzz has buttons for Claude and Codex, not Gemini. Install Google's command-line tool, sign in, point Buzz at it. Runs on the Google plan you already pay for.

  1. Install itOpen Terminal (Mac) or PowerShell (Windows), paste this. Needs Node.js first, from nodejs.org.npm install -g @google/gemini-cli
  2. Sign in with GoogleType gemini, press enter, log in in the browser with the account your Gemini plan is on. Once, forever. /quit to exit.
  3. Tell BuzzSettings → Agents → Add custom harness, three boxes:
    • Name Gemini CLI
    • Command gemini
    • Arguments click Add argument, type --acp
    Leave the rest alone. ID fills itself in. Env vars stay empty. Docs URL and Install hint are just notes for yourself, skip them. Save, then pick Gemini CLI as the brain for Fizz, Honey and Pollen.

Sign in with the account your Gemini subscription is on, or you land on the free tier and hit limits fast. A Google AI Studio API key is a separate, metered thing. You don't need one.

Basecamp: already in the list, under its real name

If you already run Basecamp on this machine, Buzz can drive it. In the agent list it is called Hermes Agent - that is the engine Basecamp is built on, same program.

  1. Check the connector is thereOpen Terminal (Mac) or PowerShell (Windows) and paste this. You want the line Hermes ACP check OK back.hermes-acp --check
  2. If it says command not foundThe connector has not been written yet. Run hermes update then check again. Still nothing? Skip to the fallback at the bottom of this card.
  3. Pick which model it thinks withBasecamp talks to providers directly, so tell it which one to use for Buzz: hermes acp --setup Walk through the prompts once.
  4. Tell BuzzSettings → Agents, pick Hermes Agent from the list, save. Nothing to type - Buzz already knows the command. Then set it as the brain for Fizz, Honey and Pollen.

Fallback if Hermes Agent will not start: Settings → Agents → Add custom harness, Name Basecamp, Command hermes, Arguments acp. Same thing, spelled out the long way.

Runs on your machine, on whatever provider your Basecamp is already logged into. Your Basecamp MCP servers are left alone - Buzz hands it only the tools for the job.

No agent, no problem

Skip the connect screen. Buzz works as plain team chat, and the three bees below still answer once anyone on the team wires an agent up. Add yours later under Settings → Agents.
